Update

This morning I changed the dressing on my injured finger. Looked like maybe a stitch or two may –really- be needed. However, I’m going to leave it in favour of letting it nit-together naturally. I reached that decision because I’ re-dressed the wound and the finger, to make it more conducive to drawing. Cutting out a bit of the dressing to expose a little flesh where the pencil would normally rest against. Although not part of the wound area, it is bruised.
Tried to do a few rough sketches. This was sore but bearable. My line fidelity and fine motor control is down about 15% but not too bad.
Decided to think about what I’d be doing for the Kitten of the Year, which as you know is Rogue. After half an hour I nailed a good idea down. Scanned it, blew it up and printed it off. Had a “practice” at inking on her foot. Evaluated how thing went and figure, I’ll go for the inking! Just taking a little longer and have a little more forethought prior to laying down the lines.
I hope to have my KOTY piece finished this evening, after our houseguests, who have just shown up, leave.

Oops!

I may be out of action for a couple of weeks...we'll see. I was putting a fence up in my back garden today with the help of my In-Laws, when the finger on my drawing hand met with a rather unfortuanate incident with a spade.

The finger is still attached to me, it's not -that- serious but skin was pulled up from one knuckle toowards the other. Leaving me without the ability to bend it or have any pressure on it. I'm hoping to give it a little "test" later this evening.

Storm...that's who I settled on in the end. I'll post once done.

Oh and Dr Doom makes an appearance;-)

At a loss!

Well this morning, with the world at my feet, I'm at a loss who to draw. I think I'll take a little time to contemplate.

Don't mess with Kirby!

Barda's advice!

Busy, busy, busy!

Felt bad teasing y'all like that so I'm working on something I can share;-)

War of the Worlds.

I watched this with the wife the other day. Being a "fan" of the original I was dreading watching this movie. I was right to! It was as dreadful as I thought.
Don't take this wrong, had they billed the film as "How tough it is being a Dad during a seperation" then I'd have been singing this films praises. It appeared to me that the movie was actually about Tom Cruises family relations with the "war" as a backdrop, instead of perhaps what a smarter man might have done which is but the emphisis the other way around.
Nice effects, nice acting, great cast, just pretty damn well crap as an adaptation goes. That's my opinion.

Plastic Man.

I'm just laying down the inks for "This Weeks" Jam. I'm also working on a piece for my secret project.

Someone also suggested another Legion member to me to have a go at, so I might start that later today also.

Tight lipped!

This is me saying nothing!
Nope, less than nothing in fact if I said nothing it would be more than I am saying but since I haven't said nothing then I'm technically saying less than nothing. In fact you know less now than you did before reading this! I've sucked knowledge from you....;-)

Legal wrangling...

Okay my team of lawyers and I have discussed backwards and forwards the pros and cons of producing a sketchbook that has characters that resemble in some way copyrighted characters and the long and the short of it is, unless I want to share a cell with some dude who wants to make me his sex-slave I should really give the whole thing a wide berth...or I might get a wid berth, if you get my meaning!!

So, should I kill the whole sketchbook thing!?

Or should I do the sketchbook anyway, minus PowerGirl and Wonder Woman, Rogue and ilk? Sheesh it's a toughy all right.

Teaser...

Here's a little teaser of the piece I was working on yesterday.

With three full figures in it, I was quite pleased the way that it came out.

Triad!

I've never drawn this Legion character before, although I know a few people are quite taken with her! I decided to include her amongst the characters who'll make it into the sketchbook. I'm inking the pencils now and I'm pretty pleased as it's come out at least as good as the Dawnstar piece if not better and that's not including the fact that, given it's Triad, there are three figures in it;-)

Sketchbook

Thinking about doing a sketchbook, just not sure yet.
